Here to talk about girls and pink 🙂 I got this t shirt a few weeks ago and I love love love it! Not only is it PINK, but it also has a flower on it and ALSO says “girl power” oh and ALSO is slightly distressed which I stinkin love. Have you seriously ever seen a better shirt?! I highly recommend it, it’s super comfy and come on… represent the power of girls. I also wanted to share the best purchase I have made in a long time… this Rag & Bone backpack (the color is sold out on the r&b website but can be found at revolve) that can also be transitioned into a handle bag.
This bag has been on my eye for a veryyy long time. Whenever I would see it on display I always admired it, tried it on and pretended it was mine haha. When it finally went on sale I bought it! I got it for under $200 so if you want it, keep an eye out! Since I wear a lot of neutrals, few patterns and many shades of pink… so this light blush color was perfect for me. I also LOVE that it comes in black and gray versions.
What I love most about Rag & Bone is the simplicity in their clothes, accessories and handbags. I find their stuff to be such high quality and totally worth the price. Their pieces are classic and will never go out of style. I try to spend my money on fewer, more plain, simple and high quality things because I know they will last for a long time (and also simple things are more of my style.)
Don’t get me wrong! I am SUCH a sucker for trendy pieces and constantly have this conversation in my head and actually sometimes aloud haha. “Oh my GOSH I LOVE THAT!! Do I need this?! YES! no. yes. no. hm wait… (list 90 reasons I do need it, my most ridiculous reason is that my future daughter will someday have it eye roll at self) no. yes. maybe. should I buy this?! omg Elly, DECIDE! Yes, nooo, yes… will I regret this? no. buy it. no.” Anyone else there with me??
Anyway, I simply love this bag and have used it so much this summer. It is the perfect size, not too bulky at all and also spacious! It has several pockets which I also love, so my things don’t go into a bottomless blackhole. I adore this bag and like how it is casual enough to wear with an everyday look but the quality stands out to be worn with something a little nicer. In the fall I might get the bigger black version for travel!
If you have this bag or decide to get it, let me know how you like it! Before I am off to bed to dream of all things pink, I wanted to share a little more on girl power 🙂
Girl power has been a common theme for me this summer, between spending time with my incredible mom, girlfriends moms and my amazing girlfriends. I have been reminded of why it is SO important to be thoughtful, loving, supportive and KIND to each other. Girls are such powerful people but are truly a force to be reckoned with when keeping each other in mind. Give the support to another girl as you would like to receive. Sometimes I imagine the world as it would be if we all (girls, guys and all HUMANS alike) set aside rudeness and judgment and replaced it with tenderness and empathy. This kind of world is the one that the women in my life convince me (and MANY other for that matter) of what is possible and I love and admire them for that.
Since being home for the summer I have been able to spend time with a few of my best of all girlfriends. It’s been 5 years since I have lived in NH and missing people is something that I have gotten very used to. Whether I am home or in California (which has become my new home,) I am alway missing people. If you live far away from where you grew up, you know exactly how painful this can be.
Up until recently, this was extremely hard. I felt unsettled in both locations because I felt the need to stay longer for the people there. This summer however, I realized that I am ready to live in California, and allow myself to feel settled. I know my dearest of all friends and long time pals here on the east coast will always be… my dearest, most lovely and adored friends forever. With that being said, I just want to remind you to hug your girlfriends a little tighter, squish them, love them, support them, and cheer for them. Your truest of friends will be there no matter where you are and I have been SO reminded of that throughout this summer.
